Community gardens provide fresh produce and plants as well as satisfying labor, neighbourhood improvement, a sense of community and a connection to the environment.
The purpose of the garden is to provide a place for people to come together and grow their own plants, fruit and vegetables. By growing food locally – we're saving the planet! But we're not only about improving the local environment, the garden is also a great way to improve your social network and learn more about gardening. People of all ages and abilities can get involved. At present we have a number of community organisations growing fresh produce at the Centre. Please feel free to pop in and have a look at all the wonderful produce being produced. |
