ABOUT US

Sometimes life's frustrations and problems just seem too big or too difficult. We may be reluctant or unable to share our struggles with family or friends and are unsure of where assistance might be available.

The Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre is a friendly, local service which offers a range of support programs to meet the individual and community needs of the residents of the Caboolture-Morayfield area. The Centre provides direct access to skilled professionals who can assist community members who might be feeling distressed or experiencing a sense of helplessness as a consequence of their social, financial or health circumstances.

The programs, which can be delivered on an individual or group basis, provide opportunities for people to gain information and practical assistance which will enable them to manage their situation in a more helpful and sustainable manner. As a result people generally feel more in control of their own lives and are able to make choices which are relevant to their circumstances. For more information on the available services provided see Support Services and Courses/Groups on our menu.

The Centre also hosts a number of community based groups which cater for more specific needs within the community. These groups utilise the Centre's facilities to conduct their meetings or courses independent of the Centre. These have been included in the Courses/Groups area of our site.

The Centre's relaxed and welcoming environment lends itself to community activities. The attractive outdoor area with shady gazebos and the community garden are ideal for workshops, barbecues and gatherings. Please contact the Centre for more information and availability.

The Centre is located in George St, Caboolture and easily accessed by train or bus.
Parking is also available in the adjacent multi-story car park in Hasking Street (next to The Hub).

We are guided by our values - Compassion, Integrity, Respect and Perseverance
By learning from others and sharing what works well for us, we are able to deliver positive outcomes for individuals, families and communities. We work to stop problems before they start, provide support to prevent situations from getting worse and form partnerships to find long-term solutions to community issues.

Students

The Neighbourhood Centre actively supports students who are looking to enhance their studies through relevant practical experience in the community.

However, due to the nature of the services offered by the Centre not all students wishing to undertake a work placement can be accommodated.

Applications are individually considered and assessed on the basis of;
  • The relevance of the study area to the services provided by the Centre
  • The length and focus of the placement
  • Availability of suitable supervisors

Please feel free to contact the Centre on (07) 5495 3818 to arrange an appointment with the Chief Executive Officer to discuss in more detail the suitability and requirements of your placement.

Volunteers

Volunteers are important contributors to the activities of the Caboolture Neighbourhood Centre. Their duties range from answering the telephone and collecting the mail, to sitting on our board of directors.

People volunteer for many reasons and we respect whatever positive motivation you may have. A number of volunteers get great satisfaction at being able to help those in the community who require assistance of some kind, and others enjoy making new contacts and finding something to do with their spare time.

There are a number of different projects, working with different people - all of whom need willing hands and open hearts.
Volunteers are provided with the following;
  • Volunteer Handbook
  • Training
  • Assistance with career development
  • Reference confirming your contribution to our services
